This scholarship is awarded annually to the applicant whose activities and
involvement best exemplify the ideals of Alpha Phi Omega as seen by the
board of directors of this scholarship.
Competition for the Kent D. Shaffer Memorial Scholarship is open to any
undergraduate student at Carnegie Mellon University who is neither a pledge
nor a brother of Kappa Chapter, Alpha Phi Omega,
nor a past winner of the Kent D. Shaffer Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship is in no way related to academic standing or ability,
financial need, or any other criterion other than those specified in the
application. It is to your advantage to be as complete as possible and
respond to all questions. The information you provide may be checked by the
board or their representative.

Should you be awarded this scholarship, the funds will be deposited in your student account by the end of the following Fall semester. Be prepared to attend an awards ceremony early that semester. Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity is the nation's largest fraternity and the only one with the primary purpose of Service.
